Cordless is the default we recommend, and the reason is factual, not dramatic: the U.S. CPSC and the window-covering industry moved stock blinds to cordless because accessible cords are a genuine strangulation hazard to young children and pets. Cordless also looks cleaner and removes the tangled-cord annoyance. Corded lifts survive mainly on very tall or heavy shades and on price. If there are kids or pets in the home, choose cordless or motorized — plainly, without the scare tactics. Confirm the lift option and remake policy before ordering; custom is generally non-returnable.
