Cordless Safety (CPSC)

Accessible pull cords on window coverings are a documented strangulation hazard to young children, which is why U.S. safety regulators and the industry moved stock blinds to cordless. Under the current ANSI/WCMA standard backed by the CPSC, blinds sold as stock (off-the-shelf) products must be cordless or have inaccessible cords; custom orders still offer corded lifts but pair them with warnings and cord-cleat hardware. The practical, non-dramatic guidance: in any home with children or pets, choose cordless or motorized. We state this as the plain fact it is — a real reason to prefer a lift type — and never as a scare tactic to upsell.
