Rod Pocket

A rod pocket is a sewn channel across the top of a curtain panel that the rod slides directly through, gathering the fabric into soft, casual folds. It’s the simplest, most inexpensive header — no rings, hooks, or clips — and it suits relaxed rooms and lightweight or sheer fabrics. The trade-offs are practical: fabric bunched on the rod doesn’t glide easily, so rod-pocket panels are best for curtains you rarely open and close (or you pair them with holdbacks and leave them dressed). For curtains you operate daily, a ring, grommet, or track header slides far better. Pick rod pocket for looks-and-stay-put windows.
